The PNG crew comes back after a long weekend of celebration and oddly enough, there’s some pretty big news for a monday. The gaming press has been lit up with news from a press event held in London by Bethesda. MTV Multiplayer is reporting that Fallout New Vegas will be due out sometime next year and that Bethesda is betting it all on black by letting Obsidian Entertainment develop it. It will not be a sequel to Fallout 3 but it’s very own game.
We’re still giving away a copy of Fallout 3 for PC here. All you have to do is guess the secret word with various hints we’ve thrown down all over the site and in last Thursday’s podcast to proclaim ownership of our free copy.
If you’ve been waiting for some crazy deal to finally sway you towards owning an Xbox 360, your time will have come next month. Kotaku is reporting that Microsoft will be dropping a Games of the Year Elite Bundle in May. In addition to all of the normal bells and whistles you get with a regular Elite, you get Halo 3 and Fable 2 all for the regular price of $399. Word is they’re limited though so take advantage of it while you can!

So everytime an rpg needs a sequel that the original developer doesn’t have time for in comes obsidian. KOTOR, Neverwinter Nights and now Fallout. They’re always good, but not great like the originals.
